Premium Suite Update Android 4.1.2 for Galaxy S3

Samsung is offering a new year’s treat to its Galaxy S3 users by releasing the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update for the device. Samsung has been consistent in releasing Android updates for Galaxy S3, as it’s the company’s most popular Android device with millions of units sold worldwide. Earlier this month, Samsung started pushing the update to its test bed in Poland. It seems that all have gone well during the short, two-week trial, as it has now started pushing the update to a variety of different locales.

So far, the countries were the Android 4.1.2 update for the Galaxy S3 has started rolling out are:

  • Denmark
  • Germany
  • Greece
  • Hong Kong
  • Hungary
  • Poland
  • Portugal
  • Switzerland

The Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update for Galaxy S3 brings many new features that first came on the Galaxy Note 2, including the multi-view feature that allows users to multi task with multiple windows at one time, a new stock Gallery app, a new notification panel, and the ability to disable the brightness slider. The update also brings the smart rotation feature, that recognises the user’s face, and it will automatically rotate the screen direction. Also brings two new apps, the Paper Artist app and Group Cast app. There’s a new addition Auto Share Shot Pairing using NFC’ functionality lets you to share your photographs to to any NFC and S-Beam powered  devices. The update also includes camera enhancements – improved ‘Best Photo’ feature, ‘Low light’ mode to allow bright and sharp photos, and Panorama can be now expanded to 340 to 360-degree. Using S Beam mode, you can now share a 1GB movie file in just 3 minutes and a 10MB music file within 2 seconds, and you’re not required to use Wi-Fi connection or cellular signal. ‘Smart Dock’ allows you to adjust the setting automatically when you connect your Galaxy S3 handset to the docking station.

To receive the Premium Suite just check for the update manually by heading into Settings > System Updates > and Check now. You can also try to upgrade your handset using Samsung’s Kies tool.
